Sinulog Festival 2027
Where to eat during Sinulog 2027
π Mid-January 2027 Β· Grand Parade on the third Sunday (17 January)
One Sunday in January, two million people fill Cebu's streets for the Santo NiΓ±o. The food is half the festival β if you know where to stand, what to book, and which lechon is worth the queue.
What to eat
Lechon is non-negotiable β this is its capital, and festival week is its Super Bowl. Add puso (hanging rice) from street grills, pork BBQ skewers along the route, dried mangoes for the walk, and a bulalo recovery bowl the morning after.
The plan (this is where people fail)
Streets around OsmeΓ±a Circle and the Basilica close from dawn on parade day; restaurants inside the loop stop taking walk-ins by 10am. Book anything sit-down for parade Sunday at least two weeks out β or eat street-side like the locals and save the reservation for Monday. Hotels near the route sell out by November.
Festival dates mean festival demand β the good tables and rooms go to whoever booked first.

When is Sinulog 2027?
The festival runs through mid-January 2027, with the Grand Parade on the third Sunday, 17 January. Novena masses and street events build for nine days before.
Do restaurants stay open during the parade?
Yes, but those inside the closed loop switch to walk-in chaos or shut by afternoon. Reserve ahead for parade Sunday, or eat street food along the route and book your restaurant meal for the days after.
What should I eat at Sinulog?
Lechon first β Cebu's roast pig needs no sauce. Then street BBQ with puso, ngohiong rolls, and halo-halo between parade sections.
